Global Finance magazine has once again ranked BNG as the third-safest bank worldwide and the safest bank in the Netherlands. Global Finance magazine has published annual rankings of the world’s best financial institutions since 1992.
The methodology used to compile the list of the world’s 50 safest banks has remained unchanged for over three decades and is based on a comparison of the long-term credit ratings issued by the rating agencies Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s and Fitch for the world’s largest 500 banks by asset size. As in last year, BNG ranks below German bank KfW (no. 1) and Swiss bank Zuercher Kantonalbank (no. 2) on the world ranking list of safest banks.
Global Finance’s World’s Safest Bank Awards is presented during the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings in Washington DC on Saturday 26 October. Click here for the press release by Global Finance.
