We are pleased to announce that as of April 2025, Polish Development Bank BGK has proudly become an Institutional Supporting Member of the Helsinki Geoeconomics Society (HGS).
The Society is a dynamic global network comprised of professionals, academics, and thought leaders dedicated to promoting geoeconomic excellence. As the central hub of the internationally recognized Helsinki Geoeconomics consortium, HGS provides a platform for advancing the understanding of geoeconomics, facilitating knowledge-sharing, and fostering impactful collaboration. The Society remains committed to neutrality and independence, empowering its members to confidently navigate today’s complex global challenges with innovation.
Commenting on BGK’s membership, Board Member Jarosław Dąbrowski stated:
"We acknowledge that expertise in geoeconomics is increasingly vital in today’s turbulent landscape. BGK’s membership in the Helsinki Geoeconomics Society will deepen our understanding of changing economic dynamics and enable us to contribute to important discussions. We look forward to exchanging insights that will strengthen both our institution and the wider geoeconomic community. - Jarosław Dąbrowski, a member of BGK's management board."
Last year, we participated in the inaugural Geoeconomics Week, a groundbreaking gathering of global policymakers, strategists, and academics focused on reshaping the global understanding of geoeconomics. The theme for 2024, "Geoeconomists at the Gates! The Emergence of a New Profession," highlighted the significance of this emerging field in influencing global economic policies and corporate strategies. During this event, we had the opportunity to engage with leading experts, listen to inspiring panellists and lecturers, and share our insights on geoeconomic development.
This year's event, themed “Trump Six Months On: Geoeconomics in a Fractured Global Order,” will examine how shifting geopolitics and corporate strategies intersect in today’s complex landscape.
