SID Bank Joins European Scheme to Support Exports to Ukraine

Under the scheme, SID Bank will be eligible for €24 million in guarantees from the European Investment Fund (EIF), which will be allocated to support Slovenian exporters. The total amount of EIF guarantees under the scheme amounts to €300 million, benefiting more than 550 companies across the EU.

The scheme enables national export credit agencies to provide guarantees to SMEs and mid-cap companies exporting to Ukraine, backed by the EIF. The aim is to facilitate the export of key products and services – from machinery and construction materials to advanced technologies – and to contribute to the recovery and stabilization of Ukraine’s economy.

With this step, SID Bank continues to fulfill its mission of addressing market gaps and enhancing the international competitiveness of the Slovenian economy. As Borut Jamnik, President of the Management Board of SID Bank, emphasized:"SID Bank reaffirms its commitment to supporting Slovenian exporters in challenging conditions. Launched in mid-2024, the initiative also supports Ukraine’s efforts to integrate into the EU single market and strengthen its ties with EU countries. As highlighted by representatives of the European Commission, this is a key step toward further economic integration and support for EU-based companies operating in uncertain conditions.

Through this scheme, SID Bank will provide the Slovenian economy with additional security and momentum in doing business with Ukraine – a partner whose recovery also relies on strong, long-term, and mutually beneficial economic relationships.
