The Romanian Investment and Development Bank (BID) has successfully completed the European Commission’s pillar assessment, achieving positive results across all assessed pillars and fulfilling Milestone 210 under Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The outcome confirms BID’s institutional capacity to be entrusted, subject to the conditions set out in the relevant agreements, with implementing EU-funded financial instruments under indirect management, including instruments based on loans, guarantees and interest rate subsidy schemes. Following this achievement, BID will implement the recommendations arising from the assessment and complete the subsequent follow-up steps required by the European Commission, further strengthening its capacity to support the implementation of future EU financial instruments in Romania.
