HBOR and CEB signed two agreements worth together EUR 250 million

- EUR 200 million for the financing of projects implemented by micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and public sector entities in the Republic of Croatia
- EUR 50 million for the construction of and equipment for the Child Hospital and the Clinic for Gynaecology and Obstetrics as well as the supporting facilities of the Rijeka Clinical Hospital Centre

Loans at under 2 percent interest rates

Hrvatska banka za obnovu i razvitak (HBOR) and the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) signed EUR 200 million Framework Loan Agreement for the financing of projects implemented by micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and public sector entities in the Republic of Croatia. The proceeds of the Loan are intended for the financing of eligible investment projects implemented by micro, small and medium-sized enterprises as well as local and regional government units and/or other public sector entities aiming to create and maintain sustainable jobs and improve living conditions in urban and rural areas. The Loan funds will be on-lent through HBOR’s current loan programmes, which means that entrepreneurs and state-owned companies will generally be able to finance their investment projects from loan funds at under 2 percent interest rates and with repayment periods of 14-17 years, depending on the type of investment.

Financing of Rijeka Clinical Hospital Centre Project for Better Health Protection

EUR 50 million agreement was also signed for the financing of Rijeka Clinical Hospital Centre project. The loan funds will be used for the financing of a part of construction of the Child Hospital and the Clinic for Gynaecology and Obstetrics as well as of the supporting facilities of the Rijeka Clinical Hospital Centre, which will improve health protection provided not only to Croatian citizens who gravitate to the City of Rijeka but also to numerous tourists visiting this area. This investment is part of the project of relocating hospital units, scattered across the city, into a single location.

The cooperation between the CEB and HBOR started in 2001. So far, HBOR and the CEB executed six loan agreements totalling EUR 348 million, the proceeds of which have been used for the financing of more than 1300 projects in the private and public sectors.
