Panaiot Filipov: BDB Group offers the full range of financial solutions to help the business

The Bulgarian Development Bank is a strategic financial asset and instrument of the government, and the Group of the Bank offers the full range of solutions to help entrepreneurs. This was announced by the Executive Director and Member of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Development Bank Panaiot Filipov during the online event "Government2Business: The State in Support of Business".


The forum was watched by nearly 400 representatives of business, entrepreneurship, media and citizens. Its organizers are the Ministry of Economy and the Bulgarian small and medium enterprises promotion agency (BSMEPA). During the Forum were presented financial measures of BDB, BSMEPA, the Operational Programme "Innovation and Competitiveness" (OPIC), the Fund of Funds, the Bulgarian Export Insurance Agency (BAEZ) and the Bulgarian Stock Exchange in support of SMEs in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and crisis.

Panaiot Filipov paid special attention to BDB's interest-free loan program to support individuals who are temporarily unable to work due to the pandemic, as well as the Anti-Crisis Program in support of business.

He introduced to the audience the activities of the Bank Group, which also includes its subsidiaries National Guarantee Fund, Microfinance Institution JOBS, BDB Leasing, BDB Factoring and Capital Investment Fund.

Deputy Minister of Economy Yana Topalova announced that four new grant procedures in the amount of EUR 200 million will be launched by the end of October in support of bulgarian companies affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
Iliana Ilieva – Chief Executive Officer and Head of the Managing Authority of OPIC, provided information about the funding opportunities of the program operating with European funds.
