Compensation Programs followed by small loans and greening

29 January 2021

EXIM closed last year with a record loan placement, announced István Attila Szabó, Deputy CEO on Jazzy Radio’s Millásreggeli program. Mr Szabó stated that the financial institution issued nearly HUF 470 billion in new loans in 2020, 40% more than last year. The outstanding result is due to the unfortunate economic downturn caused by the pandemic. The interview revealed that the hit product of the Compensation Program Package in response to the crisis proved to be the loan. In order to alleviate the liquidity problems caused by the downturn, the bank accepted an over HUF 400 billion worth of claim for a product used as a working capital loan, 85% of which was now disbursed at a value of more than HUF 300 billion, recently exceeding the one thousandth Compensation Loan.

‘Our loan portfolio, insurance portfolio and equity investments together approximate HUF 2,000 billion,’ said István Attila Szabó. The Deputy CEO also said that the institution was already preparing for the post-pandemic “peace time”: the bank’s new small loan will specifically address the needs of the approximately 480 000 micro-enterprises and will reach them through financial intermediaries.
