KBN won the award as Environmental Lighthouse of the Year!

15 December 2021

KBN receives the award Environmental Lighthouse of the Year 2020 (group and large companies) for its active role in restructuring society with its green financing solutions for municipalities-Norway.

- KBN not only excels through a number of successful environmental initiatives in its own business, but impresses in particular with how they actively work to "play other good" to choose green solutions, says Ann-Kristin Ytreberg, CEO of the Environmental Lighthouse Foundation on behalf of the jury.

- Through cooperation, openness and clear goals, they have developed several green tools and products for their customers - and have over 300 green projects that have resulted in significantly avoided and reduced CO2 emissions. In addition, KBN takes a large and important part of the responsibility for knowledge transfer to the municipality of Norway and the rest of the industry, says Ytreberg.

The jury points out that sustainability permeates the way KBN runs its entire business. With the slogan "We finance the future", KBN shows a clear ambition to be the municipal sector's most important partner when the transition from a fossil to a renewable society is to be financed. KBN's comprehensive sustainability efforts, both internally, locally, socially and financially, show that they also live up to their ambitions to the very highest degree - and are an exemplary Environmental Lighthouse.

- It is a great pleasure and honor to be named winner of the Environmental Lighthouse of the Year 2021. KBN has had sustainability high on the agenda for many years and worked purposefully over time to integrate this into our entire business and build a sustainability culture. We have been aware that if we are to set high standards for sustainability in others, we must at least live up to the same expectations ourselves. Then it is incredible for me on behalf of all employees in KBN to be able to accept this award as a visible recognition of the effort , says Jannicke Trumpy Granquist who is CEO of KBN.
