HBOR PARTICIPATED IN THE UKRAINE RECOVERY CONFERENCE IN LONDON

Josip Pavković, Member of the Management Board of HBOR, participated in the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC23), which took place in London on 21-22 June 2023 as a continuation of last year’s URC22 held in Lugano, where the principles of international support for the recovery of Ukraine were agreed upon. URC23 was co-hosted by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Ukraine and gathered the representatives of 59 countries, international financial and development organisations, and more than 500 global companies and non-governmental organisations.

Josip Pavković had a meeting with Sergii Iermakov, CEO of JSC Ukreximbank, where they discussed about the deepening of the cooperation between the two banks on the basis of the current Memorandum of Understanding of 2005 with an objective of strengthening the development of business cooperation between the businessmen of the two countries.

URC23 focused on the following three key goals:

• Reaffirmation of the unity of the international community in the support of Ukraine,
• Bringing together different stakeholders who will work together on the recovery of Ukraine, in particular key international partners, private sector and civil society,
• Presentation of concrete measures and activities in terms of reconstruction and construction, particularly in the context of immediate, current needs and long-term plans.
  
  The participants in the conference announced to provide additional USD 60 billion for the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine, primarily through credit lines and business insurance funds to promote private sector investment and trade development.
  
  At the invitation of the UK Secretary of State, on 22 June, Gordan Grlić Radman, MSc, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, participated together with Aušrinė Armonaitė, the Lithuanian Minister of the Economy and Innovation, in the opening plenary panel moderated by James Cleverly, UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.
