Public and non-profit organisations can now also receive low-interest promotional loans under the NRW.BANK.Digitalisierung und Innovation programme. Previously, only companies from the commercial sector were eligible. In this way, NRW.BANK is supporting even more companies that make an important contribution to the provision of public services in North Rhine-Westphalia’s municipalities.
“By expanding this promotional programme, we want to strengthen the transformation process also in public and non-profit organisations,” says Gabriela Pantring, Deputy Chairwoman of the Managing Board of NRW.BANK. “Public and non-profit organisations – from transport companies and swimming pools to care services and museums – particularly need support to remain fit for the future.”
The group of eligible enterprises is expanded to include public companies with a predominantly public-sector background, non-profit organisations in the legal forms of gGmbH, gUG and gAG as well as to charitable foundations. As these organisations often provide services, the eligible purposes have also been extended. The programme funds can be used, for example, to purchase hardware and software and to train employees in their use, or to digitalise the personnel planning of transport companies or the cash register systems of public institutions.
In addition, aid-free conditions for all term variants of up to ten years have been introduced. Conditions such as the application via a house bank or the optional 50% liability release for house banks remain unchanged.
The NRW.BANK.Digitalisierung und Innovation programme helps companies to become fit for the future. Low-interest loans enable funding recipients to invest in digitalisation projects such as digital production, the development of digital products or the development and implementation of a digital strategy.
