Effective from January 11, 2024, Beata Daszynska-Muzyczka was dismissed from her position as president of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) by Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The duties of the CEO, in accordance with the bank's internal regulations, will be performed by Pawel Nierada, the first vice president of BGK, responsible for the area of markets, finance and technological development.
Beata Daszynska-Muzyczka served as BGK president continuously since December 9, 2016. She was BGK's 20th president and the second woman to hold the post since the bank's establishment in 1924. After the bank's reactivation in 1989, she was the longest-serving president.
Mrs Daszynska-Muzyczka has been involved in the banking sector for more than 30 years, among others as a board member of BZ WBK (now Santander Bank Poland). In 2023, she was appointed by President Andrzej Duda as Ambassador - the President's special representative for the Three Seas Initiative.
