BGK invites you to celebrate its 100th anniversary

23 February 2024

Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. The anniversary under the slogan "A history of the future" is a time to summarise past achievements and plan new goals for next decades. To mark the occasion, a new website has been created to help get to know Polish development bank better, its history and ideas for the future. This year, BGK also appears under a new logo.

A history of the future. Where the past and the future meet in an endless cycle of development - this is the slogan under which BGK is celebrating its 100th anniversary. For the occasion, it has prepared a special anniversary website and a logotype that refer to the bank's history and the traditions of Polish statehood, as well as herald the continuation of its existing mission. They emphasize that BGK operates with the future in mind.

Since 1924, BGK has consistently carried out its mission and supported Poland's socio-economic development. It complements the banking sector which it is a key part of. It carries out its own and commissioned tasks and mobilizes private capital. For 100 years it has been guided by the same values, relating them to contemporary challenges and priorities. It builds not only financial, but also cultural and social capital. It supports innovative ventures with future generations in mind. Over the past few years, it has increased its competence and scale of operations. It is the fourth development bank in Europe, creating trends on many levels.

"We thank everyone who has been and is part of our history. One hundred years are a credit to everyone who has contributed to the socio-economic development of Poland. We invite you to celebrate together and inspiringly co-create the next chapters of the history of the future. A future in which next generations will be able to continue our mission" - says Pawel Nierada, First Vice President of BGK.

More information about the bank, its history and plans can be found at the anniversary website.
